Our story

A family farm built on trust

Hoof Miniatures began with a simple belief: that the joy of raising livestock should fit any backyard, any acreage, and any budget. What started as a handful of mini Highland calves on our family pasture has grown into one of the most trusted names in miniature cattle and goats across the country.

We are not a marketplace or a broker. Every animal we offer is born and raised right here, where it is bottle-fed, socialised, and gently handled from its very first days. That hands-on upbringing is the difference you feel the moment your animal steps off the trailer β€” calm, curious, and ready to bond with your family.

From first-time homesteaders to seasoned hobby farmers, our customers come back because we treat their experience the way we treat our animals: with patience, honesty, and genuine care.

Good to know

Questions? We have answers

How big do miniature Highland cattle get?

Our mini Highlands typically mature between 36 and 42 inches at the hip β€” roughly half the size of a standard Highland. That makes them manageable on as little as half an acre per animal while keeping the same shaggy coats and gentle temperament.

Are mini goats good for first-time owners?

Absolutely. Nigerian Dwarfs and Pygmies are hardy, friendly, and thrive in small spaces, which makes them one of the easiest livestock animals to start with. We send every new owner home with a full care guide and stay available for questions.

How does delivery work and what does it cost?

We arrange USDA-compliant, climate-controlled ground transport anywhere in the continental United States, and certified livestock shipping to Australia. Delivery is quoted per trip based on distance β€” request a quote and we will give you an exact figure within 24 hours.

Do the animals come with health paperwork?

Yes. Every animal ships with a veterinary health certificate, current vaccinations, and our written health guarantee. All required interstate and international documentation is handled by our team before transport.

How much land do I need?

As a rule of thumb, plan for about half an acre per mini cow and far less for goats. Both do best with companionship, so we recommend taking at least two animals where possible.

Can I reserve an animal that is not born yet?

Yes! Many of our animals are reserved before they are listed. Join our waitlist and we will reach out as soon as a matching calf or kid is available.
